OUR HISTORY

“Treatment for all, irrespective of poor or rich” was the first thought which sowed the seed of Vets Care Organization by Dr. Mohsin Ali Bhatti in December 2001. Dr. Bhatti and his few other fellow veterinary students at the College of Veterinary Sciences Lahore (now University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore) when observed that only the animals of rich owners are facilitated and treated at the veterinary hospitals, they felt the need of any organization which cure all the animals according to their health status not by their wealth status. Moreover it was also in the mind that there should be a platform for veterinary students and young veterinary doctors to polish their practical skills. All these ideas were joined together to bring it to a reality, the birth of the Vets Care Foundation in 2001. With the up-gradation of the College of Veterinary Sciences to the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences in 2002, the Vets Care Foundation also emerged as Vets Care Organization in 2003. This initiative of Dr. Bhatti was later boosted up by many others inlcuding Dr. Rana Shaukat Hussain and Dr. Waseem Shaukat in the coming years.

In 2004, under the auspices of the Vets Care Organization Pakistan, Vets Care Club was established to work at the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore with the involvement of veterinary students while the Vets Care Organization rose to the wider status to involve the veterinarians even outside the UVAS. In the future, Vets Care Organization plans to establish Vets Care Club under its auspices in other veterinary institutes to involve more veterinary students, because VCO believes that the involvement of the veterinary students for animal welfare is extremely helpful for involving veterinarians to care for animals more ethically.

By the grace of Almighty Allah and by hard work of volunteers of VCO now it is well organized and the most active Organization in Pakistan which is working for Animal Welfare & Uplift of Veterinary Profession in the Country. Vets Care Organization regularly arranges free Veterinary treatment Camp on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha annually. It frequently arranges free Vaccination, De-Worming & Treatment Camps in the remote areas of country to help the animals of the poor farmers who are unable to get their animals treated due to financial limitations and under-go through a painful life.

Vets Care Organization is patronized by Dr. Syed Sajjad Haider who is a renowned veterinarian. Dr. Sajjad Haider is recognized for his long lasting services for the veterinary profession especially for leading the movement of the veterinarians to get equal status as of medical doctors for so many years. Dr. Sajjad has always been a source of extreme inspiration for the VCO team. With his guidance, VCO has become more organized and focused to animal welfare and veterinary profession.
